An insightful panel unpacking ableism led by The Simple Good Founder & CEO, Priya Shah
Join us for an insightful panel discussion among diverse able-bodied leaders of Chicago about able-ism! The panel will take place on July 26th, National Disability Independence Day.
The word “ableism” means the discrimination of people with disabilities. The term is based on the social construct of a standard body type, without any disabilities, known as “normal”, and on the underestimation of people’s ability and aptitude in virtue of their disabilities.
Our panel will bring together Chicago leaders who identify with diverse disabilities to have a candid conversation on their lived experience of able-ism and their perspective on how to build a more inclusive culture for the disability community in Chicago.
The panel will be led by Priya Shah, Founder & CEO of The Simple Good, who is born with one hand and will be opening up on this topic to the public for the first time.
Delicious food will be provided by Bar Sol! Come join us for an evening of insightful dialogue and community building. We look forward to seeing you there!
