Evolution of Black Expression in Media

The Silver Room 1506 E 53rd St., Chicago

The Simple Good and True Chicago bring together Chicago's influential Black Creators in a conversation on the evolution of Black expression in media. Through this dialogue, we will beautifully archive the essence of the black experience which has influenced all facets of American culture today.

From each creative's unique perspective we’ll explore the vastness of Black Culture inspired by videos from mainstream media and how it influences American culture as a whole.

Refreshments will be provided.

Forward the Culture

We are partnering with hip-hop artist and producer Neak and longstanding community partner The Silverroom to celebrate the launch of monthly discussion panel and live performance series called "Forward the Culture." This series will explore dialogue surrounding music, art, education and entrepreneurship in the creative industry. This month's panel will be moderated by Neak and will feature some of Chicago's most influential black creatives including:

Eddie Sanders, Esq.: Lawyer/Educator/Manager

Peter Jericho: Artist/Songwriter

The evening will close with an intimate performance by local artist Soso. If you’re looking to learn, grow, and foster community, come and join the discussion! All proceeds for this month's event will help us continue to empower youth by providing our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Mindfulness-based Arts Residency Programs to youth throughout Chicago and beyond!
