ABOUT THE EVENT

FUNDRAISING GOAL: $100,000.

All proceeds from COBD go directly towards funding our fall programs!

The Simple Good presents the 8th Annual “City of Big Dreams” Fundraise at Chop Shop Chicago. Join us for a collaborative showcase uniting different mediums of art under a single inspiration – “The Simple Good of Chicago.”

This year we invite you to join us in celebrating our 10 year anniversary of The Simple Good! Throughout the evening, we will also celebrate the talented local artists Chicago holds and the rebirth and transformation of the city which encompasses the good that surrounds us. Through a curated selection of street artists, poets, musicians, and dancers, we demonstrate the strength and inspiration that has begun to transform “The City of Big Shoulders” to a “City with Big Dreams.”

All proceeds from City of Big Dreams benefit Chicago non-profit The Simple Good, whose mission is to connect the meaning of good from around the world to empower youth to become positive activists through art and discussion.

Art is our ‘simple good,’ it’s the vehicle we use to empower our students to express themselves, develop empathy and practice mindfulness to overcome obstacles and become positive leaders in the future. It is important that we remember the small things that we all have to be grateful for – our ‘simple goods,’ and to share them with each other to stay positive and hopeful for what lies ahead. That’s why we’re bringing this experience to people around the world: to connect virtually and in-person to collectively remind ourselves of the ‘good’ that still exists.

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF THE SIMPLE GOOD

Can you believe it’s been 10 years of The Simple Good? It all started with a photo blog and and a dream to share and connect over the good that exists all over the world. Since then The Simple Good has…

  • Brought SEL-based Arts Programs to over 5,522 students worldwide
  • Reached over 50 countries through our Youth Art Programs and Photo Blog
  • Engaged and collaborated with over 500 artists to spread the ‘simple good’

We invite you to celebrate all of the dreams that we have been able to make a reality over the past 10 years through your support. This year City of Big Dreams will allow us to invest in the next 10 years of The Simple Good so that we can  empower youth from around the world.
